What is Transformational Coaching?

We sometimes reach a point in life when we feel the need to grow, evolve, and move forward, but find something within ourselves is holding us back. We may realize we are at a tipping point where our need to grow is greater than the desire to stay the same. We may have a feeling or a vision of what we want from life, but can’t quite put a finger on how to get to the place where we’re feeling that we are living a fulfilled life.

Often people confuse coaching with therapy. Although they may have some gray areas, they are very different and each serves an important purpose. Simply, I think of mental health therapies as a longer term process of examination, exploration, and possible diagnosing around specific issues or behaviors. Coaching is a shorter term, proactive process of working towards actualizing a goal and looking at why one might be holding themselves back from reaching that goal.

As an individual moves through the sometimes challenging process of transforming their way of being in the world, a Transformational Coach will guide them through that process of discovery around what may be limiting their behavior and decision making, which can free them up to live into the experience of self-actualization. A transformational coach has the experience, the tools, and the skill to be a guide and partner for individuals wanting to shift and open their thinking with the goal of living an authentic life.

This is where I can help. As your coach, I’m here to listen, encourage, and understand you, so that we can work together to look at issues that may be limiting behavior and then identify core beliefs that can help you in taking action towards self-empowerment, actualizing your goals, and living consciously.

COMMENTS FROM COACHING CLIENTS

“Scott Holman's coaching program has helped me to gain perspective on how to actively and successfully move forward with my personal transformational goals by systematically questioning and assessing my self perceptions and values. His process has helped me to access and use the tools that I already possess to let go of old narratives and limiting beliefs, to integrate my vision for new realities and move forward though my life in a more holistic way.”

Scott has been my Transformational Coach for months now and it has been an amazing experience. I was at a point in my life where things had not gone the way I planned and was now needing to start over single and alone. Being in my late 40's I had many reservations on how to move forward and fear seemed to be at the forefront. Also, the impact of COVID had compounded my feelings. Generally, men are thought to work things out on their own. The truth is that we all need to learn to ask for help no matter what age we are. We cannot and should not go it alone. Doing nothing and not taking a risk is not safer. We need to take action even if the future is unknown. Scott laid out some exercises, suggested reading and other information as homework. He assisted me in becoming spiritually balanced and helped me to gain the courage I needed to get certain things done. Our conversations were free-flowing, non-judgmental, and most of all healing. His kindness and compassion allowed me to be vulnerable which in turn gave me strength and set me on my new Journey. One of Life, Forgiveness, and new Horizons.”

“Hey Scott. Little update. Things are going so well for me. Several things you taught me resonated and I'm starting to thrive. Getting healthier…lost 20 lbs so far. Stepped back mostly from social media and hook-up apps. I give myself 10 minutes at most and more often less a day to check Instagram…honestly not missing it at all. Spending more time meditating and being present with myself. Got a little house l'Il be moving to in a few days. And picked up a hobby I'm really enjoying...building a dollhouse. Lol… Anyways... thank you for a very nice nudge, helping me head a better direction.”

"Finding someone to listen to you is easy, but finding someone who listens to understand is even harder. I've been working with Scott for the past few weeks, and I'm very pleased with the outcome so far. I'm all about experiences, and Scott definitely knows how to cater to one. Our conversations always flow naturally—I attribute this to his natural ability to listen intently and dig deeper to understand. After the completion of our first session, I knew that he was someone I wanted to continue working with. Thank you (Scott) for allowing me to be vulnerable (early-on) and becoming someone that truly understands me."

“It is well worth my time to be coached by this man. Mr. Scott is a patient listener and a discerning counselor. Coaching from him felt like a mental massage each session, with his words and questions acting like strong hands and nimble fingers searching out the knot in my shoulder. With conversation, or ‘kneading,’ my knot would get worked out and he would apply this new perspective that we uncovered to my goals and guide me toward some options for attaining them.”
